Delray Timeshare

Everyone loves to go to the beach and when you invest in a Delray Beach timeshare rental you could have a home away from home in a fun location. Delray Beach is located in Palm Beach county of Florida and while it may not be as well known as Daytona Beach, it is a great place to visit and enjoy with friends and family.

Delray Beach was founded in 1876 when the Orange Grove House of Refuge was constructed. There was a grove of sour orange and other tropical fruit trees where the house was constructed, hence the name of the building. It is believed that Indians that passed through the area or even lived there at one time planted the grove. Unfortunately there is no record or evidence remaining of who planted the fragrant trees. The area that has come to be known as Delray Beach emerged when African-Americans began to purchase land in the area. Within 10 years, the black community in Delray Beach was large enough to warrant the building of a school.

There were 250 people in the town of Delray by 1910 and it was incorporated as a town of the state of Florida a year later. It became known as pineapple crop area and there is a neighborhood within the city that was named for the many different pineapple groves found there. In ten years the population exploded to 1,051. When the Everglades were drained in the 1920s, the water table in Delray made it hard for pineapple growing. This hurt the economy until tourism and real estate speculation helped bring renewed prosperity to the area. It didnt last long as the town was left in debt, but somehow the town of Delray Beach managed to survive.

Today Delray Beach is filled with shops and restaurants galore that have helped boost the economy. It has become known as a sportsman haven with many international sporting events coming to the city, such as the 2004 Davis Cup, the 2005 Fed cup, the Delray Beach International Tennis Championship and the Chris Evert/Bank of America Pro Celebrity tennis championships. Due to the influx of visitors to the area, many of the historical sites were renovated to help preserve them.

A Delray Beach timeshare rental gives everyone a great place to stay for a quiet vacation. There are many places to visit while staying in your Delray Beach timeshare rental and some of them include:
