Missouri is one of those states that many people overlook as a vacation destination. By overlooking this state they are robbing themselves of some of the best America has to offer. The city of St. Louis was settled in 1764 as a French trading post. Kansas City straddles the Missouri River and the state line that divides Missouri from Kansas. It was another city built to help launch the wagon trains of the 1800s and it grew up around the railroads as they were being built to join the east and west. After World War I, Kansas City became the American focal point of jazz music and today you will find many historical sites such as the Jesse James Bank Museum as well as family attractions like the Worlds of Fun theme park.
